Repertoire
Classical guitar jewels
From the beloved Recuerdos de la Alhambra to Asturias, David is here to offer the beautiful, moving, and somewhat melancholic but sweet sounds of the classical guitar repertoire.
From baroque transcriptions of Bach or Scarlatti to the original repertoire of Giuliani, Sor, Tarrega, and Barrios.
Yiddish goodies
Being a native Yiddish speaker david lives with Yiddish songs. From famous songs like Oyfn Pripitchik to Theater songs like Yidl Mitn Fidl, to cantorial greats like Yiddishe Mame, to the stories of Yom Tov Ehrlich. David transforms from a classical performer to a theatrical one, conveying the songs with full emotion.
David puts together programs explaining each song’s culture. David likes to introduce audiences to the poetry by which generations of Jews have lived. Explaining how songs have the power to sustain a culture, and how they did so for many communities across the world.
Chasidic melodies played gently
David likes to perform Chasidic songs of devotion. The songs he grew up with. David performs his own arrangements of them, suited for classical guitar, bringing out their beauty in a way unseen before. listening to them one can feel the warmth of a familiar home, the sounds of a living soul, burning yet contained.
Film specials
David loves the great masterworks composed for film. Romeo & Juliet, The Godfather, Scent of a Woman…
Most profoundly though, David has a deep love for the works of Charlie Chaplin. He studied Charlie Chaplin’s compositions in-depth and arranges them for solo and ensemble performances.

Sounds of Chaplin
Few people know that Charlie Chaplin the beloved theater performer, then actor, writer, and producer, was also a music composer. Charlie didn’t know how to read or write music notation, yet he insisted on composing his own scores for all his films.
In a time when film music was supposed to be “funny and lively”, Chaplin insisted on composing romantic music for his films. He described it as a counterpoint function to the comedy and tragedy on the screen.”
David deeply loves Charlie and has studied and lived with his persona and perspective for years. David enjoys sharing Charlie with others and developed a program integrating Charlie’s life story, his films, as well as new arrangements of Charlie’s music which he performs with well-chosen fellow musicians.
